The Arizona Rural Health Association (AzRHA) is pleased to announce that Governor Katie Hobbs has officially proclaimed November 19, 2026, as Rural Health Day in Arizona, recognizing the vital contributions of rural communities, healthcare professionals, hospitals, clinics, and advocates across the state.
In her proclamation, Governor Hobbs highlights the unique healthcare challenges facing rural Arizona, including limited access to healthcare providers, an aging population, and higher rates of chronic disease. The proclamation also recognizes the essential role rural hospitals and clinics play as both healthcare providers and economic anchors in their communities, while celebrating the innovation, resilience, and dedication of those working to improve rural healthcare.
Governor Hobbs specifically acknowledges the Arizona Rural Health Association and its partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions in advocating for rural residents, promoting health and well-being, and reducing healthcare disparities.
AzRHA extends its sincere appreciation to Governor Hobbs for recognizing the importance of rural healthcare and the individuals and organizations working tirelessly to strengthen the health of Arizona's rural communities.
In celebration of National Rural Health Day, AzRHA will join the Arizona Center for Rural Health for a special webinar on Thursday, November 19, where the proclamation will be highlighted and Governor Hobbs will be recognized for her continued support of rural health.
